“So powerful is the light of unity that it can illuminate the whole earth.”
Core Principles of The Baha’i Faith
The Prayers of the Faith bring solace to the heart. Written by Bahá’u’lláh, The Báb, and ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, the prayers from the Bahá’í Faith are a powerful way to reflect on our lives and ask for aid and assistance in overcoming difficulties. Prayer, meditation, and fasting are essential components of the Bahá’í Faith.
“O SON OF BEING! Bring thyself to account each day ere thou art summoned to a reckoning; for death, unheralded, shall come upon thee and thou shalt be called to give account for thy deeds.” ~Bahá’u’lláh – The Hidden Words
The Bahá’í Calendar
The Bahá’í Faith has its own calendar, the Badí’ Calendar, which was standardized and adopted globally for Baha’i observances in 2015. The Badí’ Calendar is a solar calendar consisting of 19 months of 19 days each (361 days), with the addition of either four or five “Intercalary Days” to adjust the calendar to the solar year. The days and months are named after the attributes of God. The Nineteen Day Feast, the primary community gathering for Baha’is in each town and city, is held on the first day of each Bahá’í month.
